Verdict

Super Sammy showed enough last time to suggest that he can follow up at these weights, with Ravenscar and Rutledge Red obvious dangers. The selection took a similar contest over course and distance after trying to make all. He had been headed, before a fall left him in front again, but he was far from beaten at the time and the way he stayed on with some cut suggested that these conditions will again suit, and he is taken to follow up. Ravenscar has to give the selection a stone, and has ability and plenty more experience over fences. He could do no more than win as easily as he did last time after a bad blunder from his sole opponent, and he has found winning beyond him with that exception. Of the remainder, Rutledge Red is still trying to break his maiden tag over fences, but put up his best effort so far over the larger obstacles last time, when beaten into third at Kempton by Ross Leader. He returns from a decent break for a spring campaign here and could go well, though the shorter trip may not be ideal. On balance then, Super Sammy looks good enough to follow up his course and distance success.
