Verdict
Prolific point-to-point winner THE MYTHOLOGIST (NAP) showed nothing over hurdles but made a bright start over fences at Taunton in January before falling at Market Rasen when travelling strongly. These fences are quite easy so he should be capable of making amends. Chasma, a dual hurdles winner, was beaten a long way when runner-up in a similar race to this at Wetherby and will need to do better but Bandol looks to have a decent chance. Simon West's charge made a successful debut for the yard over the minimum trip here last month before a couple of errors put paid to his chances at Catterick, though he made a bold attempt to defy an 8lb rise. Whitsundays was beaten a very long way in a three-runner race here last month and though King Of The Dark won very easily here last month it was on very heavy going and he's since been disappointing on a return visit.
