      Verdict

TOT OF THE KNAR should prove a little too classy for this field while Ballybanks and Easby Park need to be respected. This race is a big step down in class for Peter Bowen's charge after being competitive in top class Novice events this season. On her penultimate start she wasn't disgraced at Cheltenham when finishing fourth of eight behind the potentially brilliant Diamond Harry. That was over a similar trip to this and with her winning form against similar and better opposition she should go well and she can act on most ground. Ballybanks, a winning pointer in Ireland, shaped well on his rules debut last time. He raced keenly early on, which put pay to any chances of landing gold but it was pleasing enough and he should come on from the run on ground which looks a better fit. Easby Park was a winner of a very weak novice's event at Wetherby last time but showed improvement from his previous run here on his penultimate start. There was enough to like about that run and perhaps the putting did show that more contests of this level will come his way. Dark Gentleman had a few promising showings in bumpers before a solid start over hurdles last time. Further improvement from this one could see him close but Tot Of The Knar should win it.
