Glen Omen escapes a penalty for his win at Warwick last month as that came in a conditional jockeys' contest and Jennie Callandish's gelding is hard to oppose, getting the vote over San Peire and Devil's Disguise. The last mentioned has yet to win a race and was pulled up his last two starts but Ferdy Murphy has his string in good form at present so he may do better having not been seen since March. Martin Todhunter's Longdale has slipped to a winning mark but has given little cause for optimism of late, while Cavers Glen remains a maiden after 13 starts and that is a run that is likely to continue. Our Joycey is on a winning mark but was well held on his recent reappearance and is probably best watched. Howard Johnson's San Peire should come on for his return here last month and has to be considered but it is hard to get away from Glen Omen who gets a confident vote.
