        Verdict

        MEPHISTO was beaten only a nose over course and distance last time and was awarded the race by the stewards’ having been hampered by Andaleep. Both the latter and the third have subsequently won so the form looks solid and Ralph Beckett’s grey gets the vote. Sir Canford won at Chepstow on his first outing after wind surgery and there should be more to come while Isle of Wolves is preferred to Twpsyn on his second here last month. Arij may improve in a first-time visor while Kitzbuhel and Noble Dawn make their handicap debuts with the former having the more recent outing.
