Vafortino had Eastern Voice well behind when sixth behind Chief Little Hawk in a lucrative sales race at Naas where he found the 6f trip too short. The winner is trained at Ballydoyle, as is SAN MARTINO, who was beaten over 8 lengths by Vafortino on good going at Leopardstown earlier but showed his liking for heavy ground with a comprehensive victory over a mile at Killarney. The latter can take advantage of the conditions again though Los Andes also appreciated plenty of give when making much of the running over a mile at Navan.
