Dual course and distance winner CRIMSON FERN may be able to continue her rise up the ratings, Safari Mischief is another that holds sound claims whilst Matsunosuke has slipped to an attractive mark. It's usually best to be drawn high on the sprint course and the draw couldn't have been kinder to Crimson Fern and Safari Mischief. Malcolm Saunders' filly has done brilliantly this season and may well have finished closer in the Shergar Cup but for meeting a little interference just over a furlong from home. She races from the same mark here and a repeat of her recent performances should see her finish there or thereabouts. Safari Mischief is another front-runner who benefited from being drawn high in the Hong Kong Sprint Stakes. Recent indications are that the handicapper may have won the battle but, with plenty in his favour, he has to be on the short-list. Cute Ass is not without claims on her handicap bow and Cake should make another honest attempt to grab a slice of the prize money but patience has run thin with frustrating hold-up performer Good Gorsoon and we'll look to Matsunosuke to complete our short-list. He hasn't been at his best this season but the handicapper has finally accorded him some leeway and he's recorded three wins and three seconds from nine visits here. He may well bounce back but Crimson Fern appears the likelier of the two to run up to form and she is thus preferred.
