Evervescent would have been close to the choice a few weeks back after a sequence of commendable efforts in this type of contest but his last two runs have not been as good, especially when beaten at Windsor on Monday night and he's probably best watched for the time being. Scarlet Sash is of more interest, having looked progressive until beaten last time at Salisbury. However, she probably didn't stay on that initial foray over 1m4f and should be far more effective reverting to this shorter trip. Cottesloe has claims from the foot of the weights but SWORDBEARER is an interesting one despite still holding maiden status. He continues to perform with credit, comes here instead of taking in an arguably easier-looking engagement at Redcar and is equipped with a first-time visor.
