A race that has cut up badly from the five day stage and Humongous is selected with Presumptive and Queen's Best offered as the alternatives. Charlie Egerton's charge ran a solid race behind the well handicapped, Capable Guest over course-and-distance and as this was his best run for some time, it could be worth chancing him at the likely odds. Presumptive steps up in trip following a success on the all-weather. His turf form is patchy but Roger Charlton's runners invariably run well here. Queen's Best went into many notebooks with a third to Tabadul on the all-weather. She is far from the finished article but looks capable of further progression. Adventuress has obvious place claims if reproducing her recent Ascot run but looks plenty high enough in the handicap. Ace of Hearts continues to drop down the handicap but is on a long losing run. Humongous showed enough to suggest that he can be up to taking a prize of this nature and is duly selected.
