A chance is taken on the race-fit Democratic Deficit, with Rob Roy and Azarole also expected to be in the firing line at the finish. It would also be dangerous to rule out a bold show from Something, who will need post a much improved effort if he is to justify his entry in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury. Terry Mills is not one to duck a challenge, so a market move his charge could prove significant. Azarole has already had a busy campaign, having wintered in Dubai before finishing third in a Listed race at Lingfield last month. He is respected to but needs to pull something out of the hat. Rob Roy was all the rage before his reappearance last season and it was somewhat mystifying that he failed to produce the goods in the Craven Stakes. He subsequently showed his worth by winning a Group Three at Newmarket and, having seen off Babodana on that occasion, he rates as a threat to them all again this afternoon. However, he failed to repel the late surge of Democratic Deficit in last year's Craven and, off level weights, the value lays with the Irish raider once more.
