Chookie Hamilton has shown improved form on the all-weather of late but has paid the penalty at the hands of the handicapper and may be best watched on his return to turf with preference for Rose Of Petra, who gets the vote over Zaham. The last mentioned is closely matched with John Gosden's Tybalt on their running at Kempton earlier this month and both have to be respected but neither has raced on turf before so may be best watched this afternoon. Top weight Laurentina is entitled to come on for her run in the Masaka Stakes and has to be considered along with the Barry Hills-trained Desert Dew, who should appreciate the return to this grade having been highly tried in the Horris Hill when last seen. Paul Cole's Tredegar improved with each start last term and has to be respected but preference is for Sir Michael Stoute's Rose Of Petra. The filly is bred to be useful being out of a dam who was a half-sister to the likes of Islington and Greek Dance and, while needing to improve, she may do better this year than last as most of her family have done.
