Hogmaneigh has solid claims on recent form and trainer Stuart Williams has his string in good heart at present but he has been done few favours with a draw in stall four so preference is for Matsunosuke, who gets the vote ahead of Bluebok. The last mentioned has held his form well this season and is entitled to be thereabouts again but may need some help from the handicapper. Cashel Mead was good value for his win at Newbury last time but would prefer a softer surface, while Golden Dixie may struggle to give weight away all round. Matsunosuke, by comparison, receives weight all round and continues in good form plus has the benefit of a decent draw.
