Verdict

SULTAN BAYBARS (NAP) hasn't won since a debut success at Kempton last autumn but was right back to form the last day when runner-up to the progressive Mojito in a competitive handicap here. The third, Firefright, has gone on to win since to add further lustre to the form and the Varian gelding should give a strong account off 89. Likely many a Johnston inmate, Thomas Cranmer is hard to catch right but has now dropped to just 2lb above his last winning mark and it would come as no surprise to witness an improved showing, although he's yet to tackle ground with cut. Dutch Uncle is down in grade after showing little on his first two starts for his new yard in better company.
