Hunt The Bottle is the one to beat in the opener, with Little Wing, Tell Me What and newcomer Wynberg the likely dangers. Part-owned by Sir Alex Ferguson, but sporting the red and green hoops of Jack Hansen, Hunt The Bottle made a very promising debut when third to Spanish Bounty at Newmarket a fortnight ago. He was only two-and-a half lengths off the winner at the finish, and would perhaps have been closer had he not fluffed his lines at the start. Entered for the Gimcrack at York next month, a comfortable success here would encourage Barry Hills to let him take his chance at York. Little Wing has run at Goodwood and Ascot so far, and was taken off his feet last time. The easier going and the fact that he has that bit of experience may see him take a hand, while Tell Me What and Royal Intruder give Richard Hannon two bites at the cherry. Johnny Murtagh has picked up the ride on Neville Callaghan's debutante Wynberg, a son of Danetime, entered for a couple of big sales races later on. All can improve with time, but the one they have to beat now is Hunt The Bottle.
