It’s disappointing that only four go to post for this Grade 2. FRODON and Born Survivor met in a similar race at Kempton early last year with the former, brave winner of the King George in December, having 11 lengths to spare over the latter. Bryony Frost’s willing partner can take advantage of this drop in class to end another successful season on a high. Mister Fisher has been let down by his jumping the last twice and the selection takes no prisoners but this intermediate distance should suit. Militarian has little chance on these terms.
Frodon (FR) 16-1 (11-10) Led, ridden and headed after 3 out, weakened before 2 out, lost 4th flat, 5th of 12, 33 3/4l behind Minella Indo (11-10) at Cheltenham 3m 2f (1) gs in Mar.
Mister Fisher (IRE) 15-2 (11-7) Led, mistake 11th, mistake and unseated rider next, at Aintree 3m 1f (1) gs in Apr.
Born Survivor (IRE) 5-2jfav (11-12) Tracked leader, led 2 out, clear next, ran on, won at Stratford 2m 7f hcp (3) gd in Mar beating Colorado Doc (11-8) by 14l, 7 ran.
