One of the better staying handicaps of recent days and LETHAL GLAZE is our pick with Clowance House and King Of Wands holding very solid claims. Richard Hannon's grey has not hidden his light under a bushel as he was thought good enough to take a tilt at the Queen's Vase earlier in the Summer. A ready winner at Haydock on soft going, he is wisely turned out under a penalty before the handicapper takes his attempt at guessing the amount of improvement. Clowance House has been fancied for a couple of races this year. He did finish ahead of our selection off level weights at Ascot though has not been seen out since. King Of Wands was beaten in a similar race at the course in May though made amends next time out with victory at Salisbury. Final Victory and Cry For The Moon both need to have improved in order to reverse form with a number of the participants. Headline Act misbehaved in the preliminaries at Chester and while he is certainly bred to do the job, he will need to have conquered it in the mind before his feet will follow. Cases can be made for every runner in this finale though we stick with the proven form of Lethal Glaze.
