A maiden well worth having the notebook at ones side for and the market as always should be used as a guide to pointing you in the right direction in solving this. Combat Zone gets the vote after a promising racecourse debut when finishing mid-division in a maiden at the July Festival, a contest that has a very good record at producing smart types. Although the form can be knocked on the basis that the first six home were separated by only a length, quite a number went into the race with big reputations while the third Whispering Angel franked the form with an impressive win in a Newbury maiden last week. Considering that the underfoot conditions would not have been ideal for Combat Zone on his racecourse debut, it was a debut full of promise and he can land this. Of the newcomers Sabi Star certainly stands out on breeding being a half-brother to the former smart performer Galactic Star, however John Gosden's juveniles do benefit for their initial racecourse experience. Aathaar is another newcomer of note, a colt by Marju while should the market speak in favour of Cry Of Freedom it should be taken on board, the yard having landed this maiden two years ago and have hit form with a bang in the last week. The Hannon yard have been firing in the winners left, right and centre in juvenile contests right from the outset of the season but their two representatives Granski and Rio Del Oro would need to step up considerably from their debuts one suspects to trouble the selection who is Combat Zone.
