The experiment of stepping CIRCUS GIRL up in trip does not appear to have worked, but this return to a mile can see her return to form, though Squall and The Shuffler are among a number of dangers in a competitive race for the money. Our pick won a Windsor maiden over this trip and ran well enough in defeat here over 1m 1f on her handicap debut. However, 10f looked to be too far last time at Salisbury and back over this distance and with fast ground to suit we will chance her to return to form. Squall makes his handicap debut after winning a Ripon maiden and is just 3lbs higher on a mark of 77 tonight. That is unlikely to be a mark that stops him being very competitive. The Shuffler landed a classified contest at Chepstow last time and is also 3lbs higher today. Ryan Moore rides for his father and the combination are very much respected. Tartan Trip is another one who could get involved, although he may be better on good or slower ground than this and Circus Girl gets the vote.
