In depth

Verdict

A relatively small field take to the turf for this handicap but it should still prove to be an interesting contest where we side with THE FONZ who we expect to land this ahead of Battle Planner and Antinori. The selection, a half-brother to five winners, looks the type to improve further after winning a tad cosily at Beverley last time. He comes from the yard of Sir Micheal Stoute who are in good spirits of late and there should be more to come. Battle Planner was a winner on debut last time. He has plenty of size and scope and looks to have plenty more in the locker. Antinori had finished runner-up on each of his three starts prior to his last outing, where he finish third over course and distance. He doesn't look the heartiest of characters and things could be difficult for him today though a place in the minors looks a possible result as the remainder have little in the way of good recent form to go on.
