We will take a slight chance on Byo here, with his main dangers reckoned to be Pretty Kool, Mirasol Princess, Kings College Boy, Linda Green and, possibly, Turibius. Byo is well weighted on his best of last summer and is six pounds better off with Pretty Kool for three lengths based on their recent Windsor meeting. They should both be competitive again, and the latter won quite readily, but you never know with these sprinters. Mirasol Princess is now back to a mark that is a pound below that from which she won at Windsor last summer. It could be that a stiffer track like this will suit her better these days and, if near her best, certainly holds claims this evening. Kings College Boy made late headway at Hamilton on June 28th and, with his stable in good heart, could go well. There is no doubt that Turibius, who is the only course and distance winner in the field and who races in first-time blinkers tonight, is well-weighted if turning back the clock, while Simpsons Mount is only marginally above a winning mark, and Linda Green remains in good heart, and her latest effort can be safely ignored. Finally, Corton Denham is miles out of the weights and Logsdail lacks a recent run which, in turn, returns us to the selection, which is Byo.
