In depth

Verdict

Two horses stand out on the official ratings here the first of which is Proud Native who has bags of ability but finds it hard to win handicaps. His last two victories have come in a claimer and a classified event and his shrewd trainer could well have found and an opening here. The other who looks well-in is the consistent Delegate. Very capable of getting his head in front he will have the assistance of L. Dettori who rode him to good effect this time last season when he ran some of his best races. Of the rest, Al Muallim may find this trip on the sharp side these days while Mungo Park needs to improve on recent efforts to take a hand here. Saying that though he did start coming into his best form in the autumn last year. Fairgame Man can be given a squeak on his best form of last season but has yet to reproduce that form this term. Jahangir, Legal Venture and Strawberry Dawn all look outclassed.
