Duke of Venice looks another star in the making for Mark Johnston, and is chosen to get the better of Fahlawi and the well bred newcomer Percussionist. This son of Theatrical ran green at Haydock on his debut, but still managed a close up third to the more experienced King Carnival, and will know whats required this time around. Fahlawi has similar credentials having raced too freely when a gallant fourth behind Mukafeh at Newbury, going down by just four lengths. Of the newcomers Percussionist is by Saddler's Wells out of a Silver Hawk mare, so will relish every yard of this one mile trip but on this occasion experience should count and Duke of Venice is the selection.
