A tricky contest, but preference here is for Flaran, with Musical Fair and Ripple Effect both worthy of a mention. Flaran has taken a while to find his feet, but came good at Haydock in August beating Paciano in a tight finish. Now he knows whats required he could go on to better things. Musical Fair doesn't know how to run a bad race and will get every assistance from Richard Hughes in her chase for a fifth win this season. Ripple Effect is possibly better suited by an extra furlong but will find this stiff uphill finish to her liking. Flaran though is at the right end of the handicap and is taken to follow up his recent Haydock victory.
