Greenside won this in 2017 and scored for the first time since when successful at Windsor last month. He’s been beaten in this higher grade subsequently but Baltic Baron, a winner in France, went close at Nottingham on his debut for David O’Meara with Masham Star back in third and looks to have strong claims. He’s preferred to Hateya, narrowly beaten over 7f at Epsom recently, while Thrave just missed out at Newbury last time having earlier finished behind runner-up SAWWAAH (NAP) at Newmarket. Owen Burrows’ colt will be sharper today for both that outing and first-time headgear and may just edge this given the soft ground is not a problem.
