In depth

Verdict

Ritchie Valens is back in the right grade and only a pound higher than when second at Doncaster in April. He holds Htilominlo on their run together at Newbury last month. Ragnar hasn’t shown much the last twice but has changed stables and Sea Sculpture still has plenty of scope on Turf. Rhythmic Intent should handle conditions and makes his handicap debut with a step up in trip likely to suit but we’ll stick with Beverley winner VALENCE, despite a 7lb rise, as he may find further improvement after being gelded.
