In depth

Verdict

Everything fell into place at Kempton last time for Sheila Nash but she only beat Ballybough Mary a neck and is 7lb worse off. Favourites don’t have a great record in this but likely market leader Rainyday Woman comfortably held off Flirtatious Girl in a Listed race at Huntingdon when last seen, though that has earned her a penalty. Miss Lamb came up against a smart mare when losing her unbeaten record at Market Rasen but Ucanaver was a disappointing favourite at Cheltenham in November and Anthony Honeyball may have stronger claims with the less-exposed Precious. Marshmallo beat BILLAMS LEGACY and Step To The Top at Doncaster but the runner-up was carrying a penalty that day. This could be a red-letter day for her in-form yard so she gets the nod to reverse placings here and come out on top overall, though it would be no surprise to see the four-year-old Tweed Skirt go close given the manner of her victory at Wetherby and Code Name Lise is another who shouldn’t be underestimated.
