Ispahan, Master Mahogany and Arctic Cape are the trio that make the shortlist here with ISPAHAN taken to continue his good form and win off top weight. He was a sound second in a good handicap here last time, and although he has been raised another three pounds for that sound effort, his earlier win over this course and distance was a very good performance with the runner up an effortless winner next time. That success also came on an easy surface, and although today¿s ground may prove more testing, he should be able to handle it. Two years his junior, Arctic Cape ran well last time to be second, and it is worth noting that his only previous success came on an easy surface. He can reach the frame. Master Mahogany was not winning out of turn when scoring at Goodwood last time, and although this trip may be on the sharp side, the stiff uphill finish looks sure to suit, and any rain would help the seven-year-old¿s cause. He looks a major threat off only a three pound higher mark, but Ispahan loves it round here and can score again over this course and distance.
