Not the best race ever staged at Sandown and Straw Bear can take this, with Arctic Silk, Freeloader and Strider others to consider. Straw Bear is sent out by Sir Mark Prescott and has the high-flying Seb Sanders in the plate to boost his chances. The Diesis colt should really get further than this, but this is the furthest he has gone so far and it will be his advantage. Second to Mr Jack Daniels here over a mile last time out, he will just have that extra bit of time to get involved and at these weights he has a great chance. Arctic Silk carries 3lb less and could be the big danger. The Godolphin filly steps back up in trip and has stayed on at the end of a mile on her last two starts, so will be better suited here. Freeloader is already a winner at this trip at Kempton this season and improved on that effort behind Pango at Goodwood last time. Again, this will suit him more and he can make his presence felt, while Strider does not have too much to find with the other three as he gradually gets the hang of the game, and although it is hard to see him winning he can improve to take a hand. Nevertheless we take Straw Bear to score.
