Von Wessex has disappointed on his two previous starts on ground softer than good and looks taking on which we do with Paris Tapis, who is preferred to Roko. The last mentioned finished in front of both Von Wessex and Hopelessly Devoted at Redcar last month and has to be respected but has been well held in similar grade before. Of more interest may be Alan Berry's Kristikhab, who has been running in better grade and hails from a stable back among the winners of late. Danehill Fairy is consistent if nothing else but may again have to settle for a minor role, while it is of concern that the newcomers Weet N Measures and Beaumont Girl are aimed this low first time out. The vote then goes to Paris Tapis. Kevin Ryan has his string in good form at present and, having shown improved form when second in a Redcar seller last time, she looks the one to beat.
