Marco Botti's Fanunalter and Jeremy Noseda's Stoic both opened their accounts when taking maidens on their most recent starts and now make their debuts in a handicap for the first time but neither looks to be particularly well treated and a better bet may be BRAVO ECHO. John Gosden's colt had been running creditably in handicaps over seven furlongs before showing improved form when stepped up to a mile for the first time at Newmarket on his most recent start in July. Ridden to lead approaching the distance, the son of Oasis Dream stayed on strongly to win by half-a-length from Sunshine Always and he can defy the 2lb rise for that success. John Dunlop's Albaher is difficult to weigh up after just two starts and was beaten a long way here last time so he looks best watched, while Chapter And Verse was similarly disappointing last time but had won well enough the time before at Ripon and the Barry Hills-trained gelding would have every chance if able to reproduce that form here. Mark Johnston's Yorgunnabelucky has struggled in all three starts in handicaps and may do so again in a race taken to go to Bravo Echo.
