In a competitive opener, We'll Make It gets the nod over Commanche General, New Perk and Rose Tina. We'll Make It has run well from revised marks since winning at Folkestone in March and, still only five years old, could have even better to come. Gumption has had only three runs over hurdles and is a little hard to assess but we prefer others today. Capriolo won a claimer at Plumpton last November and, while he remains fairly consistent, a place is maybe the best that he can hope for again. Richie's Delight fell over fences last time and this race has the look of a confidence-restorer for him. Rose Tina is following a similar path, although, as a six-year-old, she might have better to come despite never having won over hurdles. She's already won three times over fences this season. Commanche General is lightly raced and came good at Market Rasen in March. Beaten off a mark of 93 next time, he races off 95 here but his rider claims six pounds in this conditional jockeys event. However, he would probably not want the going to be too quick if he is to feature on his first run of the season. New Perk has run well without winning in novice hurdles but a mark of 90 for his handicap debut does not seem excessive and he could go well. Los Vados is hard to fancy on what he has so far achieved, but Irishkawa Bellevue won a Fontwell handicap in September from a mark of 78, and now races off 83 and has a good rider in the plate. He might have more to come but, for today, we'll take a chance on We'll Make It.
