George Washington has the class to take a hand in the finish if at his best following his return from a belated and ultimately slightly disappointing reappearance after under performing with his stud duties; however, the ground is softer than ideal for the son of Danehill and it is hard to get away from Derby winner Authorized with the main danger looking to be Notnowcato. The last mentioned is a proven Group 1 performer and handles plenty of cut in teh ground as it was on the soft side when he landed the International at York last term. Sir Michael Stoute's five-year-old looks a bigger threat than Aidan O'Brien's runners away from George Washington, the pick of who look to be Archipenko and Admiralofthefleet. Both were well held by Authorized at Epsom though and having won the Racing Post Trophy on heavy ground, Peter Chapple-Hyam's colt should not be inconvenienced by the cut in the ground and he gets the confident vote.
