Pride of Nation was disappointing in the Buckingham Palace Stakes last time but should do better back over a mile today, although more solid claims are held by Mutanaseb, who gets the vote over Rio Riva. The last mentioned was good value for his defeat of Moody Tunes under similarly testing conditions at Newcastle last time and has to be respected on ground that suits but an 8lb rise since then is harsh. Colorado Rapid has claims on form but would probably prefer a faster surface, while Laa Rayb has yet to prove that he handles ground this testing. Ordnance Row has harshly been raised 8lbs for his win at Salisbury last time, while Unshakable is likely to find this tougher than the race that he won at Salisbury on his most recent start. Bold Marc is probably a shade high in the weights and of more interest may be the selection Mutanaseb. Mark Johnston's colt is less exposed than most of these, handles the ground really well and is taken to complete a hat trick.
