Verdict

Only one favourite has won this in the past 10 years but the penalised Whitecrest is in fine form, though wouldn't want the ground to get any quicker. Rebecca Romero has produced two cracking runs already this season including one over this course and distance. She was receiving a pound when beaten almost two lengths by Muhdiq at Lingfield in October and the latter caught the eye from a poor draw on his reappearance at Ascot. But he could again have been handed a better stalls position so the vote goes to ASIAN TRADER. William Haggas' charge hasn't had much experience due to a reported breathing problem but reappeared with a very impressive all-the-way victory over 6f at Bath and this stiff 5f should hold no terrors. Waseem Faris is invariably thereabouts but has only won twice in 29 starts and Ginzan has been beaten three times since raised 5lb for her victory at Bath.
