Verdict
The day’s feature race sees the reappearance of the brilliant ENABLE. Agonisingly beaten in bottomless ground in the Arc when last in action, John Gosden’s star made a winning reappearance in this last year when beating Aidan O’Brien’s top-class mare Magical and is the one to beat once again. O’Brien runs both Japan and Magic Wand this time with Ryan Moore preferring the Juddmonte International winner, who will be sharper for a recent outing at Ascot. Ghaiyyath also comes into the reckoning having won the Coronation Cup in good style at Newmarket last month while the Japanese filly Deirdre was the shock winner of the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood last year but has plenty to find on these terms along with last year’s third Regal Reality and Bangkok.
