Jacob Black is a pound better off than when beaten a neck by Basem over course and distance three weeks ago. Both are well drawn in this and there should be little between the pair again. Fire Ship and Baltic Knight were third and fourth in a Listed race at York last time while Halation has to go on the short-list. He's still climbing the weights but only found subsequent Royal Hunt Cup fourth Balty Boys too good last time at Newmarket. Boomshackerlacker, You're Fired and Munaaser were all unplaced in the Royal Hunt Cup but SPARK PLUG may well have been placed had he not clipped heels and come down inside the final furlong and he'd beaten winner GM Hopkins at Newmarket earlier. If Ryan Moore can weave a path from stall one, the top weight could gain compensation. Sahaafy was drawn on the wrong side when favourite in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot and shouldn't be written off just yet while Mister Universe wasn't beaten far in the Jersey Stakes and is another to consider.
