Mecca's Angel would need plenty of rain to take her chance and that looks unlikely. Waady is three from three over course and distance and should have conditions to his liking, however. He's won in Listed company so this is a natural progression. Last month's Ayr winner Katawi also tries her luck in this grade for the first time but Kingsgate Native is an old hand and the veteran got back to winning ways at Haydock last time. Spirit Quartz and Stepper Point have both been competing at a high level but so has SALT ISLAND (NAP) and it's Charlie Hills' three-year-old who looks the one to beat. This is certain to be run at a furious pace and that will suit the Exceed And Excel colt, who tackles the minimum trip for the first time but looked a shade unlucky when an excellent fourth behind Muhaarar over 6f in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot - he finished ahead of Waady at Newbury earlier. Henry Candy doesn't tilt at windmills so the progressive Son Of Africa is worth a second look at bigger odds.
