Verdict
Battle Of Marathon ran well for fifth in the Royal Hunt Cup, finishing ahead of Donncha and Secret Brief. The latter runs in the Godolphin colours but the boys in blue may have a better chance with Best Of Times, who won a Listed race last year at Newmarket and wasn't disgraced over a longer trip at Royal Ascot last month. Whitman is the pick of Mark Johnston's two three-year-olds and Chevallier has won on three of his four previous visits to the track and been placed in the other. MUTAMAKKIN conjured a late burst to catch trailblazer Franklin D over course and distance last month when King's Pavilion was third and Secret Art fourth. This is more competitive and he has a 5lb higher mark to contend with but he's been very lightly-raced and is still on an upward curve.
