Colloquial could bounce back at some point soon but SWINGING HAWK is readily preferred this time; Outrageous Request and Crocus Rose both hold solid claims of their own. Ian Williams' charge made his first start for connections at Pontefract and it could've been a winning one with better luck. That was his first run for almost 200 days and the way he travelled suggested a drop in trip wouldn't go amiss, indeed he's won over this distance in France, so with improvement likely he's going to take some beating off the same mark with the track likely to be to his liking. Colloquial didn't stay when tried over much further last time and Ryan Moore is a strong booking aboard Henry Candy's charge, who is undeniably well treated on his 2008 form. He might just have improved for his second run of the year having missed 2009 and is worth watching in the market. Outrageous Request beat Crocus Rose over course and distance last time and there's nothing between them at the weights here, but we expect the form to be confirmed as Crocus Rose may not be straightforward, although rain would benefit the latter. Curacao hasn't quite repeated his Salisbury heroics elsewhere but placed over this trip on his sole visit to Sandown and remains fairly treated while Dancing Dude and Ugalla are respected given the record of the classic generation in this race, but preference is for Swinging Hawk.
