Verdict

Last year's Greenham winner Muqbil can gain a Listed success at the expense of Sunstrach, Alkaadhem and Dutch Gold. Muqbil limbered up for this by landing a conditions event at Doncaster, having earlier found the soft ground against him on his reappearance here in the Gordon Richards Stakes. A winner in Group company, he lines up fit and with the ground in his favour and should be hard to beat. Sunstrach was successful in Group 1 company in Italy but will find conditions plenty fast enough as he bids to better his third in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes here last month on what was only his second British start. Alkaadhem is up to Group class according to Richard Hills but he wisely ignores the Queen Anne also-ran in favour of Muqbil which speaks for itself. Clive Brittain has had a couple of winners in the past few days so Dutch Gold will be expected to go well, and having finished sixth in last year's Derby and also second in the Diomed Stakes last month, he should be involved. A decent renewal can go to Muqbil.
