The prolific Ballymoy has developed into a smart performer but steps up in distance again today and this is a track on which stamina has to be assured. Stablemate Mr Antolini also tries a new trip but a third Twiston-Davies runner, The Hollow Ginge, won over 3m at Haydock. Casko D'Airy could be well treated having come good at Ascot but is a novice up against seasoned handicappers. Padleyourowncanoe and Virginia Chick are other recent winners while Lord Napier looked sure to be suited by further when third in the Lanzarote at Kempton and Eminent Poet is a dour stayer. Gordon Elliott’s veteran Folsom Blue was fourth in this last year and is 2lb lower. Richard Johnson takes the reins but no 12-year-old has ever won this competitive Grade 3. KEEPER HILL won a Grade 2 over fences but lost his way over the larger obstacles.
