In depth

Verdict

Beaufort West has shown up well in a couple of starts at Newbury and looks the pick of Colin Tizzard’s three runners but the four-year-old PRAECEPS (NAP) may have more scope. Alan King’s gelding, a stayer on the Flat, never looked like catching the experienced Song For Someone at Newbury on his hurdling debut but finished well clear of the others and has the build for jumping. El Kaldoun goes hurdling after a couple of runs in bumper and could be interesting while Neverbeen To Paris is a potentially useful recruit from the Flat.
