State Fair and Fire And Stone both have claims here with experience on their side but we prefer LORD ZENITH, who can improve for his debut to score. The selection was getting the hang of things when staying on to be closest at the finish on his Newbury introduction and he should have learned plenty there. The step up in trip looks a positive and he can find more and take this. State Fair has had three outings to date and run with some merit on each occasion without really threatening to win until stepped up to 6f at Goodwood last time. A furlong further here looks likely to be in his favour and he should go close. Fire And Stone might also appreciate 7f, having failed to show the necessary speed over shorter. The Hawk Wing colt was worried out of it at Windsor but is not readily dismissed this time. Kajima is one of three interesting newcomers, this one trained by Richard Hannon. He cost 74,000 guineas as a foal and that increased to 82,000 as a yearling and he comes from good stock. This trip should be ideal for starters and the market should be checked. The same goes for Kensei, whose dam won over 6f at two and who also possesses plenty of stamina in the pedigree. He should improve for this and will surely win races. Sea Dubai appears to be the Hannon second string but is another nice prospect, though for today Lord Zenith is preferred.
