    Verdict

These veterans' handicaps are commonplace over fences but still a relatively new concept on the Flat and this one has only attracted six runners. Perfect Pastime would have a squeak on his best form and will definitely handle conditions but Angel Way remains resolutely out of form and New Rich steps up a couple of grades after his second over 7f at Brighton. Swendab won off a 3lb higher mark last year but SILVERRICA made a satisfactory reappearance at Bath and is a pound lower here without taking into account Josephine Gordon's claim so should be good enough..
