DUDLEY’S BOY found only one too good at Newbury on last month’s debut. He finished clear of the rest and with the winner rated 87, that looks stronger form than Jersey Wonder’s debut second over track and trip at last week’s meeting. Andrew Balding’s colt gets the nod given the modest form of the others with experience though several newcomers are worth a second glance. Mrs Ivy is related to pattern winners in France and preferred to Surrey Warrior and Tartlette while Red October is a half-brother to a Group 3 winner among others.
