This appears the stronger of the two divisions and Helidor is the selection to complete what could be an opening race double for the Hannon yard. Helidor showed promise over five furlongs on his first two starts and then disappointed on his first start in what was a hot Newbury maiden over six furlongs. His Ascot nursery second now reads well as the winner, Talking Hands went on to listed success afterwards. A mark of 80 seems fair and the others will need to raise their game to overcome him. Waahej was one place in front of Helidor in that Newbury maiden but his second effort was a cause for concern. He looked a one-paced sort and his breeding suggests a mile plus will be his trip so with that in mind he is best left alone. Frank Street was soundly beaten in a Windsor maiden first time out but today's sounder surface should suit better. The form of that maiden was left down though by the second who was soundly beaten on Sunday. Outofoil can be expected to improve from his second on debut over the course. Dalradian got very worked up prior to his debut and he raced similarly throughout the race, been keen before weakening. The step back to six furlongs should suit as he showed plenty of early toe. If he relaxes today he could have place claims while the market should be watched where the Andrew Balding newcomer Countess Zara is concerned. Helidor is nominated to land division two of the maiden.
