Batik is only 1lb worse in with Tarandot for the neck that she beat George Margarson's filly at Bath last month and is taken to confirm her superiority, with Belle Rouge rated the best of the remainder. The selection is less exposed than most of her rivals and, with Luca Cumani's horses really beginning to hit form now, there should be more to come from the daughter of Peintre Celebre. Tarandot is an obvious danger but the daughter of Singspiel may not be quite as much at home on today's faster surface. Wee Dinns is capable of taking a hand in the finish but Sylvester Kirk's filly needs a career best performance to trouble the judge and of more interest is the eight-year-old Tight Squeeze, who is a consistent performer in this grade. Niobe's Way should appreciate the underfoot conditions and has a nice racing weight although a bigger danger may be the reappearing Belle Rouge for who the booking of Kerrin McEvoy takes the eye. Batik looks to be going the right way though and is taken to follow up her Bath success.
