Theory gets the vote to land division two of the maiden, once again for the Gosden yard. The Oasis Dream filly has had two outings to date this season and showed improvement from her initial racecourse experience at Lingfield when third last time at Goodwood. She travelled quite strongly at Goodwood and appeared the most likely winner one furlong out, but could not match the front two in the closing stages. Stamina could well have been the cause of that sudden weakness in the later stages and the drop to six furlongs should play to her strengths. The second Victoria Reel has run well subsequently, the front three drawing clear, which will give supporters further confidence. Credit Swap caught the eye in a back end Yarmouth maiden last season, where he was slowly away but ran on. The Cumani yard have a line through Theory with Jennie Jerome, who was well supported when finishing behind Theory at Goodwood. Horses from the Cumani yard do tend to progress from their seasonal debuts and although the yard are starting to fire their aces, he is passed over. Strategic Mover is flattered by his lofty rating. He was beaten a long way out in his most recent outing at Newmarket and is not as promising as was initially thought last season. Papillio is worthy of respect given his yards record in maidens at smaller courses but handicaps are where he should be seen at his best. It is significant that connections have opted to drop Theory back to six furlongs and she gets the vote.
