Flood Defence has been very consistent lately and kept on well to score over a similar trip at Sandown last month. She’s gone up a further 4lb but can’t be ruled out in a wide-open handicap. Funky Footsteps continues to knock on the door and her only victory to date came on soft going but Greenview Paradise was beaten again dropped into a seller at Hamilton and Swaffham Bulbeck was well beaten on his handicap debut after landing a Class 6 maiden at Nottingham. Cotinga has frustrated this year but Lingfield winner Take A Turn possibly found the going too fast when a beaten favourite at Musselburgh. POSEIDON got going too late when runner-up to an in-form rival at Windsor but is probably on a fair mark at present and this might be an opportunity to grab a first success.
