The newcomer Clap gets the vote here ahead of Nazaaha, Neideen, Sincerely and Rakatta. The 34,000 guineas purchase Clap rates as a very interesting newcomer from the Jamie Osborne yard and, in a run-of-the-mill affair, gets the call. Incense has yet to build on earlier-season form, and Madhavi has had her chances and lacks gears. Nazaaha has shown enough in all three starts to suggest she should play a part in this contest, and it is a modest affair overall, while Neideen can be given a shout, certainly based on her maiden second to Great Britain at Newcastle in August. Finally, Rakatta has been placed in a handicap off 69, which offers claims, and Sincerely has scope for improvement having indicated promise, so pay her some thought. Finally, Andrew Balding's Special Time is one to watch out for in the betting but Clap would not have to be that good to score at the first time of asking and, accordingly, gets the call.
